WebApp is our secret sauce — and it is where every great commercial audio installation begins.
For the installer, WebApp is a complete configuration environment. Every zone, every input, every output — all from a browser on any device connected to the same network as the Zone controller. Nothing to download, nothing to install. Open a browser, enter the address, and you are in.
The configuration capability runs deep. EQ and DSP per zone, input routing, ducking, limiting, microphone mixing, bridge mode for low and high impedance speakers. But the feature that consistently surprises installers and venue owners alike is the automated routines engine. Build a complete schedule for the day — a playlist kicking in at opening time, sub presence rising for the evening service, volume levels shifting between lunch and dinner, the system turning itself off at close and resetting for the next morning.
All of it runs automatically, every day, without anyone touching a thing. It is the kind of capability that used to require expensive dedicated control systems. In WebApp it is built in and straightforward to set up.
ZonePad wall controllers — ZonePad 1, ZonePad 4 and ZonePad 8 — are fully configurable and controllable via WebApp, giving venue staff a dedicated physical interface wherever a device-based control is not preferred. The Talk 8 digital paging station is also fully configurable and controllable via WebApp, bringing paging setup and management into the same environment as the rest of the system.
For venue staff, WebApp presents a clean, touchscreen-optimised operator view — volume, source selection and preset recall, nothing more. Installers lock down configuration with a PIN before handover, so the system staff see is exactly the system they need.
What makes WebApp genuinely different is that it does not stand still. New features, new integrations and new capabilities are delivered through Zone firmware bundle updates — free, and without any hardware changes. Every system in the field benefits automatically. That is future-proofing with substance behind it, and it is a tangible part of the value an installer brings to every project they specify Optimal Audio on.
For installations requiring integration with third-party control systems — lighting controllers, building management platforms, AV switchers — WebApp supports OSC control over Ethernet, allowing external systems to trigger audio changes automatically alongside other building functions.
HELPFUL TIP!
WebApp is hosted by and updated through your Zone controller. New features and integrations are delivered through Zone firmware bundle updates — download the latest version before installation to ensure you have everything WebApp has to offer.

Optimal Audio WebApp FAQs
WebApp is the browser-based control and configuration software built into every Optimal Audio Zone controller. Installers use it to configure the complete system — zones, inputs, DSP, routing, presets and automated routines. Venue staff get a simple operator view for daily use. No software installation needed on any device — just a browser and a network connection.
Nothing. WebApp lives on the Zone controller itself. Open a browser on any device on the same network, type in the address, and you are in — smartphone, tablet or laptop, any operating system. The only thing to keep current is the Zone firmware bundle, which delivers new WebApp features as they are released.
The installer view is the full configuration environment — DSP, routing, automated routines, all system settings. The operator view is what venue staff see: volume, source selection and preset recall, nothing they do not need. Installers set a PIN to lock the configuration before handover.
For installers, WebApp makes systems faster to commission, simpler to hand over, and easy to replicate across multiple sites. The automated routines engine means the system runs itself once configuration is complete. For venue staff, the operator view puts exactly the right controls in front of them and nothing else. And every firmware update makes the system more capable — at no extra cost.
