Up 6 is a two-way, passive 6″ ceiling speaker delivering consistent coverage and full-frequency sound to a wide range of commercial environments that require higher sound pressure levels — from hotels and concourses to retail outlets, bars and restaurants.
An integral fixing system is included to achieve a simple and clean installation. Up 6 has a steel back can, perforated steel grill and is finished in neutral white.
The Pendant 2 and Grille 2 accessories offer further flexibility in installation and applications, allowing you to either elegantly suspend Up 6 speakers as stylish pendants or achieve a sleek, bezel-less grille appearance. These accessories are available in both black and white, helping to blend into any architectural environment.
Up 6 features a 6” (162mm) low frequency driver paired with a 0.7″ (20mm) metal dome tweeter. It is suitable for both high quality speech and music reproduction. A conical 110° coverage pattern delivers consistent, high performance sound where it needs to go.
Each Up 6 can be run on a series of 70 or 100 Volt taps or at low impedance. The 16 ohm setting allows up to four units to be connected to each amplifier channel at low impedance. Tap selection is via a rotary switch behind the removable grille.
A SmartAmp or powered Zone will provide amplification and loudspeaker protection via onboard presets. When coupled with Zone and WebApp, system set up and end user control is straightforward, and can be further supplemented by ZonePad wall controllers.

Optimal Audio Up 6 Ceiling Speaker FAQs
Up 6 is a two-way passive 6″ ceiling speaker delivering higher output than the 3″ and 4″ Up models — suited to larger commercial spaces where greater SPL or longer throw is required. A 6″ coated paper LF driver paired with a 1″ exit/0.7″ metal dome HF driver delivers a maximum SPL of 108dB continuous. The 110° conical coverage pattern is tighter than the 4″ models, providing more focused sound in larger rooms. The 16Ω nominal impedance allows up to four speakers per amplifier channel at low impedance — useful for larger distributed installations. Up 6 supports both 16Ω low-impedance and 70V/100V constant voltage operation.
The choice between Up 4 and Up 6 is primarily about output requirement and room size. Up 4 delivers 102dB maximum SPL with a 120° coverage pattern — suited to small and medium commercial spaces. Up 6 delivers 108dB maximum SPL with a tighter 110° pattern — suited to larger spaces, higher ceilings, or environments with significant ambient noise where higher output is needed. The 16Ω nominal impedance of the Up 6 also allows more speakers per amplifier channel in large distributed systems. Both models support 70V/100V constant voltage and low-impedance operation. Your installer will advise based on room size, ceiling height, ambient noise levels and the number of speakers required for even coverage.
