Sub 15 is a compact, high-performance, passive, 15” subwoofer designed for applications that call for increased impact and low frequency performance across the Optimal Audio loudspeaker range.
The 15” (380mm) driver is loaded into a plywood bass-reflex cabinet that maximises performance, with a peak SPL of 135dB, while taking up minimal space. Sub 15 can be used on the ground or flown using integral M8 inserts.
An impact-resistant perforated steel grille protects the driver, and rubber feet on the base resist movement. The Sub 15 enclosure is constructed from plywood and finished in black textured paint.
A SmartAmp or Amp series amplifier will provide amplification and loudspeaker protection via onboard presets. When teamed with Zone and WebApp, system set up and end user control is straightforward, and can be further supplemented by ZonePad wall controllers.

Optimal Audio Sub 15 Subwoofer FAQs
Sub 15 is a passive, high-power 15″ subwoofer for commercial audio installations requiring substantial low-frequency reinforcement alongside larger loudspeakers. The 15″ driver in a plywood bass-reflex cabinet delivers 129dB continuous and 135dB peak SPL, reaching 40Hz at –10dB. Sub 15 is suited to pairings with larger Cuboid loudspeakers — Cuboid 8 through 15 — in venues where higher SPL and deeper bass extension are required. The cabinet can be floor-standing or flown using the integral M8 inserts. A SmartAmp or Amp series amplifier provides amplification with onboard presets.
Sub 10 (10″, 121dB continuous, 12.9kg) is the compact option suited to smaller loudspeaker pairings and space-limited installations. Sub 15 (15″, 129dB continuous, 34.3kg) delivers substantially higher output and power handling (500W AES vs 250W), suited to larger loudspeakers and higher-SPL venues — larger bars and restaurants, gyms, houses of worship and event spaces with Cuboid 8 through 15. Sub 18 (18″, 130dB continuous, 47kg) is the highest-output option in the range at 800W AES, suited to the largest and most demanding installations where maximum low-frequency output is required. The step from Sub 15 to Sub 18 is about headroom and programme dynamics at the highest levels. Your installer will advise based on the loudspeaker pairing, room size and peak SPL requirements.
