Optimal Audio Cuboid 12 FAQs
There are number of key strengths:
- Powerful and rich sound: The Cuboid 12 boasts a 12-inch low-frequency driver for enhanced bass and mid-range presence, ideal for applications requiring powerful and clear audio. It delivers a maximum SPL (Sound Pressure Level) of 128dB (continuous) and 134dB (peak) for effective sound projection in large venues.
- Wide sound dispersion: Offers a user-rotatable HF horn with a 45° horizontal and 75° vertical coverage angle, ensuring flexibility in directing sound towards the desired listening area.
- Professional design: Features a steel grille and a choice of portrait or landscape mounting options for a clean and professional aesthetic.
- Passive design: Requires a separate amplifier to function. Optimal Audio offers compatible amplifiers like the Amp series with sufficient power output to drive the Cuboid 12 effectively.
- Optional subwoofer pairing: For even deeper bass, the Cuboid 12 can be paired with subwoofers like Sub 15 from Optimal Audio for a more impactful low-frequency response.
The Cuboid 12’s powerful sound and wide coverage make it suitable for various large-scale applications, such as:
- Auditoriums and conference centres (speech reinforcement and music)
- Large event venues (concert halls, sports facilities)
- Places of worship (church music and announcements)
- Warehouses and factories (background music and announcements over ambient noise)
- Large transportation hubs (public announcements and background music in stations or terminals)
Both Cuboid 12 and Cuboid 10 are full-range speakers, but Cuboid 12 offers some key advantages for larger spaces:
- Larger driver size: The 12-inch woofer in Cuboid 12 provides a more powerful and extended bass response compared to Cuboid 10’s 10-inch woofer.
- Higher maximum SPL: Cuboid 12 offers a slightly higher maximum sound pressure level for even louder audio output in larger venues.
The Cuboid 12 is a passive speaker and requires a separate amplifier to function. Optimal Audio offers compatible amplifiers like the Amp series designed to work seamlessly with their Cuboid speaker range. The amplifier should have a compatible impedance rating (typically 8 ohms) and sufficient power output to drive the Cuboid 12 speakers effectively.
