ZonePad VL1 is a wall-mounted volume controller made to pair with the SmartAmp series. A direct connection to the SmartAmp GPIO port gives installers a simple, reliable way to provide in-room level control at the point of listening.
Use a single VL1 to control the overall output level of a SmartAmp, or pair two VL1s on a SmartAmp 20 or 30 for independent level control across each channel pair — basic two-zone control without the cost of a dedicated zone processor.
Built from painted steel with a clear screen-printed zone label area at the base of the plate. The circuit board is firmly secured to the faceplate, giving a solid, rattle-free build. No external power supply is required.
Available in two variants — ZonePad VL1-UK-W for UK and EU single-gang back boxes, and ZonePad VL1-US-W for US 1-gang decora back boxes. Both finished in white.

Can I use two ZonePad VL1s with one SmartAmp?
Yes — SmartAmp 20 and SmartAmp 30 can be fitted with a pair of VL1s to give independent volume control over channels 1&2 and channels 3&4. This provides basic two-zone control without requiring a dedicated zone processor. SmartAmp 10 supports a single VL1 only.
What firmware does my SmartAmp need?
The ZonePad VL1 works with any existing firmware of SmartAmp 10, SmartAmp 20 and SmartAmp 30. However, we always recommend using the latest firmware available, so check for any free update available from the software page — update first, then install.
Is a ZonePad VL1 available for the US market?
Yes — the VL1 is available in two variants: ZonePad VL1-UK-W for UK/EU single-gang back boxes, and ZonePad VL1-US-W for US 1-gang decora back boxes. Both are finished in white to match standard architectural plates.
