Commercial Audio Amplifiers

Optimal Audio offers a range of both power and smart amplifiers, to partner our loudspeaker and control offering.

Amp is a series of high-power amplifiers designed to work seamlessly with Zone controllers and are competitively priced for the commercial audio installation market.

A core offering of three, two-channel amplifiers will power the complete suite of Cuboid loudspeakers and matching Sub from the Optimal Audio eco-system. The front panel design of Amp follows Optimal Audio’s intuitive approach, whilst providing status monitoring for each amplifier channel via indicator LEDs.

Amp also has flexible input connectors featuring two balanced XLR / 1/4” Jack ‘Combi’ line input connectors and features speakON® or binding post for outputs. Amp can easily be configured for a variety of install applications and can be run in Stereo, Bridge or Parallel mode, selectable by a switch on the rear panel of the unit.

SmartAmp is a series of amplifiers with DSP, designed specifically for the commercial audio market.

With an intuitive and sleek design, a hallmark of Optimal Audio, SmartAmp is a collection of three multichannel direct drive constant voltage amplifiers with 30 DSP settings available to maximise the performance of Optimal Audio loudspeakers. These DSP presets are easily selected by switches to the rear of the amplifier, which enable the appropriate EQ and overload protection settings for the accompanying Optimal Audio loudspeaker. SmartAmp can drive both conventional low impedance and 70V – 100V loudspeaker loads, while front panel design provides status monitoring for each amplifier channel via indicator LEDs.

Whether its Amp or SmartAmp, Optimal Audio’s commercial amplifiers deliver high performance, sonic quality, reliability and are easy to install and operate.

Commercial Audio Amplifiers FAQs

A commercial audio amplifier is a device used to increase the power of audio signals to drive loudspeakers in commercial settings such as restaurants, retail stores, and educational facilities. Unlike consumer-grade amplifiers, commercial amplifiers are typically designed for continuous operation and higher power output.

Commercial audio amplifiers come in various forms, including single-channel (mono) and multi-channel (stereo or multi-zone) configurations, as well as different classes of amplifiers such as Class A/B or Class D. Some amplifiers are designed for specific applications like distributed audio systems or high-impedance speaker systems. Optimal Audio offers three reliable, high power Class A/B design amplifiers supporting stereo, bridge and parallel modes, alongside three Class D multichannel direct drive constant voltage amplifiers with 30 DSP settings available for maximum performance of Optimal Audio loudspeakers.

Businesses should consider factors such as the size and layout of the space, the number and type of speakers, desired power output, impedance matching, compatibility with existing equipment, and the management of zone control. On our applications page, there are a variety of different venues with recommendations on which amplifier would be best suited to each needs case.

Yes, Optimal Audio commercial audio amplifiers offer integration capabilities with our Zone controllers, allowing for centralised control and automation of audio functions within a facility.

Common features include multiple input channels with individual volume controls, zone switching and routing capabilities, built-in signal processing (such as EQ and crossover), and advanced protection features to safeguard against overheating, overloading, and short circuits. Optimal Audio offers a range of both power and smart amplifiers with feature sets designed to meet the needs of various applications.

Depending on the industry and location, businesses may need to adhere to regulations related to electrical safety, electromagnetic interference, and compliance with industry standards for audio quality and performance. Additionally, businesses should ensure proper installation and grounding to prevent safety hazards. A recognised system integrator or installer will be able to guide any business through these considerations. Declarations of conformity for Optimal Audio products can be found on the support section of the website.

Common issues can include overheating, distortion, clipping, ground loops, impedance mismatches, and connectivity issues. However, with Optimal Audio everything is designed to work as a harmonious eco-system making every day operation more reliable, while a recognised system integrator or installer will ensure the proper installation of an Optimal Audio system.

Firstly, Optimal Audio equipment comes with a two-year guarantee so that provides piece of mind. Businesses can aid longevity and reliability by following recommended installation guidelines, providing proper ventilation and environmental control for equipment, and performing regular maintenance checks to clean dust and debris from vents and cooling fans. Additionally, investing in surge protection and backup power solutions can help protect amplifiers from electrical damage. Your system integrator or installer may also offer maintenance services.
